To begin with, we do a visual inspection of the hair dryer, looking for visible mechanical damage. If everything is in order, turn on the hair dryer and determine the nature of the malfunction. In case of any breakdown, we will still need to disassemble the hair dryer for repair. Let's say the hairdryer does not turn on at all and does not show signs of life, which means that we have a starting point. First of all, you need to look at the power cord and switch on the handle of the hair dryer.

We look at the case and determine which screwdriver we need, there are many options here, an asterisk, a slingshot, curly, slotted, it all depends on the model of the hair dryer. Having disassembled the case, we carefully study the entire filling of the hair dryer and try to understand what goes where and why it is needed. Putting the hair dryer, disassembled and prepared for repair, on a flat dielectric surface, we turn it on.

Next, we take an indicator screwdriver and see where the ends of the power cord come to. Checking phase arrival by indicator, if everything is normal, then turn the plug in the outlet and check the phase on the second wire. If you find that there is a break in the power cord, then try to find it.

A good way to find cable breaks gently bend and wiggle it in order for the breakage points to connect and the hairdryer turns on for a short time. The photo also shows the places where the breakage most often occurs.

After the power cord, we are looking for a breakdown in the power button according to the same principle. We look where the button has an entrance and check for the presence of a phase, then we look for an exit from the button and check there. Buttons and switches are the main malfunction of household hair dryers, they are not expensive, so do not try to repair them tediously and painstakingly, it is much easier to buy and replace with your own hands. Most breakdowns can be determined by visual inspection of the disassembled hair dryer and an indicator screwdriver.

The electric motor of the hair dryer is mainly powered by direct current, which comes from diodes. In order to check the diodes, a tester is needed. We very carefully examine the spiral of the hair dryer and if you find a break in it, then for its repair we will need small copper tube... We look at the photo and do the same, do not twist the ends of the spiral together, as they will soon burn out and you will have to repair the hair dryer a second time.
