How to choose an antenna for a summer residence: tips from FORUMHOUSE participants.

Any of the FORUMHOUSE users knows: country life does not let you get bored even without television. All the time you need to build something, improve, remove weeds, but in the evening you want to take a break from the labors of the righteous. And then nothing could be better than to get together with friends and watch on TV a football match with your favorite team. Therefore, together with the users of our portal, let's find out which antenna to put in the country, so that it can catch signals well and the price is reasonable.

Which antenna is best for giving

If at least one single strongly emerging channel exceeds the maximum allowable level after the amplifier, then it will "overturn" the amplifier (overload) and the output will be a mess from the channels.

The main disadvantage of active antennas is the impossibility of adjusting the gain ("playing" by changing the supply voltage - about nothing), the impossibility of rejecting the Skylink, the impossibility of weakening strong "emerging" channels.

If the outdoor antenna and the amplifier are located at a distance of 0 meters to 10 meters from each other (mast + descent to the attic), then in the overwhelming majority of cases this does not lead to signal attenuation.

It is also necessary to remember that for normal operation of the amplifier it is necessary that the signals arriving at its input are approximately the same and of a certain level. Any television channel (or interference from the 450 MHz cellular network, radio signaling, etc.) that is much higher in level than the other channels, overloads the amplifier and "dirt" appears on the screen. At a very high level, the amplifier can overload so that nothing will be visible on the screen at all. It is impossible to turn off the amplifier in this case without altering such an "antenna".

- NS good antennas for giving is good, but much depends on the cable, I advise you to take the SAT 50 or SAT 703.

And even living next to a transmitting repeater does not guarantee reliable reception.

Danchenkoff:

- It seems to me that the signal from the air is getting worse and worse from year to year. I cannot say about the Moscow region, but I have TV antenna to the dacha - the usual inactive decimeter "ether", a year ago showed 15 channels, and this summer 10 federal +2 regional. Here, obviously, the problem is in the frequencies that are affected by the many installed cell towers. I have clients on satellite TV a hundred meters away from the TV station, and still their TV shows poorly! Therefore, it is better not to rack your brains, to Which outdoor antenna to choose for a summer residence, and switch to satellite TV.

- "Nearby" TV reception is a special case! Here you have to think. Branded terrestrial antennas provide for installation at an angle of +5 - +10 degrees to the horizon and you do not need to amplify the signal, but selectively extinguish the channels using notch filters.

And in order to prevent obstacles and range from affecting the quality of picture reception, they came up with digital terrestrial television.

How to install an antenna in the country yourself

Let us analyze all the stages of installing a television antenna using the example of the experience of a participant in our portal.

HJS :

- My garden is located a hundred km from Moscow (to the northeast), there is no signal level and quality of data reception yet. There are no obstacles in front of the building, the estimated height of the antenna mounting is 6m, in the house there is a splitter for 3 TV sockets. I would like to receive the central channels in a more or less decent quality. I think my a TV antenna for summer cottages will be passive, a larger size and a separate amplifier for it.

Alexander 2 :

- In this case, you can set the antenna in several stages, which will allow you to choose the most optimal design. Here's a suitable setup scheme:

  • First, put three separate antennas for each band. The mast needs to be picked up with a standard one, and not a stick / pole or pipe. Do not buy the amplifier yet, but add the signals from the three antennas on a special summing filter;
  • Then divide the signal into three tails using a divider.
  • If the picture does not suit you, then a three-input range amplifier is required. They are usually called mastheads, but in our climate it is better to put them in the attic;
  • During installation, in order not to confuse anything, it is imperative to mark the cables from all three antennas.

A member of our portal used the above-described scheme, and the results of the very first test met expectations - they show all channels from his personal rating, except for the sports one.

Test results:

  • 1 channel, TV center, 5 channel and Star - show with insignificant interference;
  • Domashny, REN TV, STS, TNT, 7TV, DTV, MTV, MUZ TV, 2X2 - they show very well;
  • Russia is bad, NTV is very bad, Sport is not visible at all.

HJS :

- We can say that the test result is positive, this is almost enough, the only thing I would like to see the TV channel Sport, but this requires a plate.

But besides the fact that it is necessary to correctly choose the best TV antennas for a summer residence, they need to be fixed on something. There are many wall brackets or installation matches on sale, but sometimes none of the options will work, and in order not to spoil the gable of a private house, it is easier to install an outdoor antenna on a tree. And it will not even worsen its appearance!

SergeyBorisov

- When installing, you don't want to spoil the pediment of the cottage, drill the siding under the bracket, etc., but next to the house there is a centenary lime tree 15 in height, what is not a mast?

nek73:

- On a tree, you can put both a plate and a simple ether. The tree trunk does not rotate on its own axis, and swaying does not lead to loss of signal.

We look at how street TV antennas for a summer cottage can be mounted on a tree:
