Introduction

When installing a solid fuel heating boiler in a private house, it is very important to comply with a number of requirements. The efficiency, service life, as well as the safety of its owner, largely depends on how correctly the device is mounted. In this article, we will consider a typical installation of a solid fuel boiler and the nuances of connecting it to a heating system.

Ordering a professional installation of a solid fuel boiler, unlike a gas boiler, is not at all necessary; if necessary, everything can be done independently with your own hands. The usual scheme for commissioning a solid fuel boiler contains three main stages: installation of the device in the boiler room, connection of the chimney, piping with the heating system. Next, we will look at each of these stages in more detail.

Requirements for the boiler room and the choice of location for installation

The first thing the owner of a solid fuel boiler should take care of is to organize a boiler room in his country house. There are several basic rules that should be observed when designing or choosing a room for installation:

As a domestic boiler room, it is allowed to use a non-residential, preferably a separate room with good ventilation and walls made of non-combustible material. Its volume for hot water boilers up to 30 kW must be at least 8 m³. The boiler room must be insulated and have a natural inflow of air necessary for the combustion of solid fuel. Regardless of whether the boiler needs electricity to operate or not, the room must have access to the mains and artificial lighting.

Photo 1: A room for installing a boiler on wood or coal

Installation of a solid fuel boiler should be carried out on a special concrete foundation protruding on the sides of the device by at least 250 mm. In the case of installation on a wooden floor, which is highly undesirable, it is necessary to make a masonry a quarter of a brick high, on top of which lay a layer of asbestos cardboard and a sheet of roofing iron.

The boiler should be mounted at some distance from the nearest walls to ensure fire safety and ease of maintenance. There must be at least 700 mm of free space on the sides and behind it, and 1250 mm directly in front of it. When the heating boiler is equipped with heating elements, there must be enough space for their convenient installation and connection.

Photo 2: Marking the place for mounting a TT boiler

The height of the boiler room must be such that there is at least 1200 mm from the top of the heater to the ceiling. And for example, during installation, the free space on top of it should make it possible to conveniently load and maintain it.

Connecting the boiler to the chimney

The next important step is to connect the solid fuel boiler to the chimney. The best solution for the removal of volatile products of combustion of solid fuels is steel modular sandwich chimneys with thermal insulation.

The internal section of the chimney must not be less than the section of the outlet pipe of the solid fuel boiler. For household models, this value usually lies in the range of 150-200 mm². Also, the narrowing or expansion of the pipe is not allowed - its cross section must be constant along the entire length.

Photo 3: Gate and steel sandwich chimney

There should be no bends or slopes along the entire length of the pipe. In extreme cases, to bypass insurmountable obstacles, a side shift of no more than 1 m is allowed and with a slope of at least 30 ° to the horizontal. When connecting the flue pipe to the main chimney, the same conditions must be observed.

Attention! When passing through the floors of the structure, the joints of the sections should not be inside them. Also, in the absence of thermal insulation, it is necessary to insulate sections of the pipe passing through unheated rooms.

The height of the chimney is very important. If it is too short, the thrust will be insufficient. This will prevent the efficient operation of the heater and threaten the safety of the inhabitants of the house. Usually a length of at least 5 m is recommended, however, the greater the power of a solid fuel boiler, the longer it should be.

To ensure good draft, it is necessary to monitor the height of the chimney above the roof. The following values are recommended for different types of roofs:

  • for a flat roof - at least 500 mm;
  • if there is a ridge or parapet at least 500 mm above it (the distance to them is a maximum of 1.5 m);
  • not lower than the ridge or parapet, if the distance to them is from 1.5 m to 3 m).

During operation of the boiler, ash particles enter the chimney, as well as soot and condensate accumulate. For cleaning from pollution and draining the accumulated water, a hatch must be provided in its lower part.

At the junction of the pipe of a solid fuel boiler and the chimney, gaps may form through which smoke can penetrate into the boiler room. To avoid this, during the connection process, it is necessary to treat the junction with a heat-resistant sealant.

Photo 4: Sealant treatment of the boiler connection to the chimney

In many modern models, such as for example, forced draft is used and the requirements for natural chimney draft are not so strict. However, for traditional devices, the efficiency of the heater and the safety of its operation largely depend on how correctly the chimney is selected, calculated and installed.

Connecting a solid fuel boiler in a private house is a difficult task. Installing a solid fuel boiler in a turnkey house is divided into two main stages:

1. Boiler piping in the boiler room (boiler room) of the main elements: expansion tank, circulation pump, safety group and chimney

2. Installation or connection of a long-burning boiler to the main heating: radiators, underfloor heating, collector

Installation of wood (wooden) boilers- by far the most common and affordable type of fuel in Russia. Wood burning boilers can also be heated with briquettes. Of the minuses, the shortest burning time on one tab! Of the benefits of a democratic price!

Pellet heating is gaining popularity in recent years due to its undeniable advantages:

1. Burning time can reach 7 days on one load.

2. Pellets are stored in sealed bags from which there is no debris. Bags are usually in waterproof packaging, which allows them to be stored outside.

The features of turnkey pellet heating are that in some models a bunker for loading pellets goes to the pellet boilers, otherwise there are no fundamental differences between the installation and the wood or coal one! Pellet boiler with automatic insertion is a system that allows you to feed pellets to the burner with the help of an auger!

Connection and installation of a pyrolysis boiler is no different from connecting a conventional wood or coal boiler.

Installation of boilers on coal pretty old technology. Of the main advantages of heating on coal is the duration of burning, on some models it can reach up to weeks. Of the main disadvantages is coal dust and dirt that is formed when loaded into the boiler!

Installing a solid fuel boiler in a wooden house is a very responsible job, since we are talking about an open fire, you should pay attention to two main things when installing it.

1. Installation of a fire-fighting device through a wall or through an attic floor with basalt cardboard insulation along the perimeter of the PPU.

2. Wooden walls and floors must be protected with glass-magnesite non-combustible plates (flammability degree NG0) in case of a heating element (co

The main advantage of solid fuel boilers is energy autonomy. To work, they do not need anything other than the fuel itself - firewood, peat, sawdust, coal, etc. Installing such a unit is a real way to reduce the cost of heating and hot water supply of a country house, cottage or even a small business. At the same time, you can start saving even at the stage of installation and connection, simply by doing them yourself. But for this you have to take into account that the requirements for the placement, installation and connection of solid fuel boilers differ from the installation standards for gas and electric heat generators. This means that you will have to equip the boiler room, the platform where the equipment will be located, and the piping in a special way.

Basic requirements for the boiler room

Household solid fuel heat generators are installed in separate dry rooms, outbuildings or separate buildings. The dimensions of the boiler room are determined by the dimensions of the unit, as well as the features of its maintenance, however, the smallest allowable area is 7 sq.m. At the same time, it is necessary to provide a place protected from atmospheric action for storing the fuel supply - it must be dry before loading.

If the walls of the boiler room are made of combustible materials, they must be covered with a 2.5-3 cm layer of plaster or thermal insulation in the form of an 8 mm layer of asbestos and sheet iron. In the absence of fire protection of the ceiling, the distance from it to the boiler body must be at least 120 cm.

The normal operation of a solid fuel boiler is ensured by a stable air supply. Therefore, in the boiler room it is necessary to perform supply and exhaust ventilation. The channel of the first with dimensions of 30x30 cm should go to the lower part of the wall opposite the chimney, and the exhaust hole, the dimensions of which should be 40x40 cm, is located no more than 40 cm from the ceiling. The ventilation of the boiler room must provide normal draft. With its lack, the performance of the boiler decreases, and with an excess, it becomes difficult to regulate the process of fuel combustion.

The solid fuel boiler must be installed on a strictly horizontal fireproof (concrete or brick) platform with a thickness of about 7 cm. On a wooden floor, such equipment can only be installed with an intermediate brick layer covered with a 3-4 mm metal sheet or at least 5 cm cement screed . The base of the solid fuel boiler should be 10-20 cm wider than the outer dimensions of the body, but the sides of the firebox should additionally be equipped with a safety zone with a width of at least 40 cm.

Installation standards

Requirements for the installation of solid fuel heating boilers are regulated by the Fire Safety Standards (NPB) and Building Codes and Rules (SNiP). It is very important to follow the provisions of these regulatory documents, since not only the efficiency of the heating system being equipped, but also the safety of the residents of your home directly depends on this.

Basic standards for the installation of solid fuel boilers:

What do you need to install a solid fuel boiler with your own hands?

If you are not going to involve specialists for the installation of a solid fuel boiler, you will have to prepare for work yourself.

First of all, you will need overalls and tools:

To connect the boiler to the heating system, you must additionally purchase:

The most important thing when installing a heat generator is to follow the manufacturer's instructions. Before starting installation work, it is necessary to assemble the heating system and check it for leaks, as well as organize ventilation and smoke exhaust systems in the boiler room.

Heating systems based on solid fuel boilers should be equipped with open expansion tanks, the function of which is to protect communications from breaking due to overheating of the coolant.

The subtleties of installing solid fuel boilers

The boiler piping scheme is adopted in accordance with the characteristics of the heated object.

It can be implemented using one of the following options:

  • boiler in an open heating system with natural circulation and radiators;
  • boiler in a closed system with forced circulation and radiators;
  • boiler with thermal accumulator in a closed forced system with radiators;
  • boiler with a thermal accumulator in a closed system with forced circulation and underfloor heating;
  • boiler with radiators and underfloor heating as part of a forced circulation system.

The piping of a solid fuel boiler must be equipped with a security system. The latter includes:

  • thermal accumulator or buffer tank;
  • three-way valve for mixing cold water;
  • thermostat in the control system.

The safety group of a solid fuel boiler is installed at the outlet, i.e. on the hot water line.

Immediately before installing a solid fuel boiler, it is necessary to carry out its visual inspection and test firing in the open air for about 1 hour at the maximum load of the combustion chamber.

According to the requirements of SNiP, after connecting the boiler, a hydraulic test of the system under pressure with a holding time of 24 hours should be carried out.

For this you need:

  • connect water, open all taps and valves;
  • raise the pressure in the system to 1.3 atm (control valve);
  • make sure that there are no leaks, especially in the places of welded and threaded connections.

If the installation, piping and connection of the boiler are performed correctly, there will be no pressure loss and no leakage of the coolant. In this case, you can proceed to the revision of the boiler itself:

First start of the heating system

Before the first kindling of the boiler, the pressure in the system should be about 1 atm. Don't forget to open the damper on the chimney. The kindling material is placed on the grate, after which fuel can be loaded into the combustion chamber. After 10-15 minutes from the moment of ignition, the ignition damper should be closed. When the temperature of the coolant in the system reaches 85 ° C, you should adjust the thermostat, and then set the minimum (about 5 cm) gap between the primary damper and the furnace door.

Installing a solid fuel boiler is not an easy task, but it is quite solvable. It is important not only to comply with the requirements of regulatory documents, but also to follow elementary logic. And do not forget to use the successful experience of those who have already dealt with the organization of heating systems based on solid fuel heat generators. The most important thing is to ensure the optimal operation of the heating equipment. After all, its reliability and durability and, of course, the microclimate in the premises of your home directly depend on this.

Proper installation and connection of a solid fuel boiler on video

All household heating boilers that run on solid fuels are distinguished by significant weight and large dimensions, so they are always installed on the floor. However, this equipment can be mounted independently without issuing special permits. The only condition is to take care of the safety and ease of operation of the solid fuel boiler. How to install solid fuel heating boilers in a private house and connect them to a common system will be discussed later in the material.

Mounting sequence

The industry produces several types of solid fuel boilers - pellet, direct combustion and pyrolysis.

However, the installation of a solid fuel boiler of any type is carried out according to the same method:

  1. First determine the place where the boiler will be placed.
  2. The next step is to prepare the room.
  3. Provide supply and exhaust ventilation.
  4. Mount the selected solid fuel boiler and lay out the chimney.
  5. Connect to a common heating system and check its performance by a test run.

Please note that some models of wood or coal boilers require additional power from the mains. This possibility must be provided at the stage of preparation.

Competent performance of preparatory work before installing a solid fuel boiler in the house is of great importance. If you ignore one of the stages of preparation, you will inevitably encounter difficulties during the operation of the boiler. Then all the shortcomings will have to be eliminated in the current mode right in the middle of the heating season. Let's consider each of these points in more detail.

Boiler location

The regulatory framework that would regulate the installation of a solid fuel boiler in a private house has not yet been developed. However, the basic requirements for the placement of such equipment can be found in SNiP "Heating and ventilation" and SNiP 31-02-2001 "Single-family houses" (for the Russian Federation), as well as a number of other separate acts.

It is worth noting that the SNiP “Boiler installations” often mentioned on the Internet is not designed for low-power household appliances - its requirements apply to equipment with a power of more than 360 kW, and the rules for installing gas equipment are too strict.

Based on the analysis of the available regulatory framework, which relates to the procedure for placing heating appliances on wood, the following tips can be distinguished on how to install a solid fuel boiler in a house:

  1. Any type of solid fuel, be it wood, coal or pellets, creates a large amount of dust. In addition, during the operation of the boiler, a different amount of smoke can enter the room. In this regard, it is not recommended to install a solid fuel boiler inside the living rooms of the house. Although the regulatory framework does not directly prohibit the installation of a solid fuel boiler in the kitchen, corridor or other rooms, with the exception of the bedroom.
  2. The best option for placing a solid fuel boiler would be an equipped separate boiler room or a boiler room attached to a common house. You can also stop at technical rooms in the house itself, a basement, a garage or a corridor with good ventilation.
  3. Heating equipment should be located as close as possible to the outer wall in order to facilitate the laying of the chimney, not to create too long a horizontal section or not to lead the pipe through the ceiling.
  4. Any solid fuel boiler needs periodic cleaning of the heat exchanger and maintenance. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure free access to it. To do this, at least 1 m of space is left in front, and about 60 cm each, but not less than 25 cm, at the back and sides.
  5. It is forbidden to connect the flue of a solid fuel boiler to brick ventilation ducts inside the walls.

Please note that before buying a solid fuel boiler, it is advisable to correlate its dimensions with the dimensions of the technical room where it is planned to be installed. In addition, it is worth considering in advance the location of the heat accumulator, buffer tank and indirect heating boiler.

In small boiler rooms, heating equipment can be placed close enough to the wall, but only on the unattended side. In this case, the gap can be at least 10 cm, and there must be an indent of at least 25 cm at the back.

How to prepare a room

Preparatory work before installing a solid fuel boiler with your own hands includes several areas:

  • preparation of a reliable foundation and pouring of a concrete foundation, if necessary;
  • execution of ventilation holes and a gap for a chimney in the wall;
  • isolation of a flammable floor and walls from fire using sheets of metal, minerite, basalt cardboard or asbestos cement.

The boiler room must have a power line. It will be needed to connect the circulation pump and, possibly, the automation of the boiler itself.

There is no need to get rid of wooden elements on the walls and floor. If the distance from the solid fuel boiler to the wooden wall is less than 38 cm, the sheathing is insulated with one of the above materials. The same sheet material must be placed on the floor at the bottom and in front of the boiler so that it protrudes 80 cm. This will protect the room from coal flying out of the open firebox door.

  1. Solid fuel boilers with low power and weight up to 200 kg can be installed on a cement screed. As a rule, she copes with such a load.
  2. With a mass of up to 300 kg, the installation of a solid fuel boiler is carried out on a reinforced concrete screed with a thickness of 10-12 cm. With a mass of more than 300 kg, a separate foundation slab will be required.
  3. Pellet-fired heat generators with an auger and an electric motor require a special type of foundation, as they exert a vibration load.

Please note that a small solid fuel boiler can even be installed on a wooden floor. However, its location will have to be reinforced with lags from bars with a cross section of 100 × 50 mm.

If the scheme for installing a solid fuel boiler in a private house involves the presence of a heat accumulator and other heavy elements, it is not necessary to pour a separate foundation under each of them. In this case, they make a single concrete screed 12 cm thick, reinforced with rods, with a section of 8-14 mm. A mesh with a cell of 20 × 20 cm is made from reinforcement, which is placed on top of a pillow of well-compacted gravel.

How to properly install the supply and exhaust ventilation

There are several objective reasons why ventilation in the boiler room is necessary:

  • supplying sufficient oxygen to the boiler to support the combustion process;
  • removal outside the room of carbon monoxide gases that accidentally got into the room from the furnace;
  • compensation of the amount of air used in the combustion process.

Please note that for the combustion of 1 kg of firewood, 4.6 m 3 of air will be needed, and burning coal requires about 8-9 m 3, based on the quality of the fuel.

Here are some tips for arranging a ventilation system:

  1. Openings for the inflow and outflow of air should be located on different sides of the boiler room. The inlet is made in the lower part of the wall as close as possible to the heat generator, and the exhaust is under the ceiling.
  2. If the boiler is equipped with a smoke exhauster or a blower, the hood should not be placed next to it (read: ""). Otherwise, the thrust will overturn, and the exhaust opening will become an inlet.
  3. If the door from the residential building goes into the furnace room, then it is desirable to build in the air inlet grate in the door leaf. Warm air entering the boiler will improve the combustion process.
  4. The size of the exhaust opening must be smaller than the inlet, since most of the incoming air enters into a thermochemical reaction and exits through the chimney in the form of CO 2 .

Chimney and boiler installation

Actually, installing a solid fuel boiler in a house is not some kind of super-complicated process. It is enough just to place the equipment on a prepared basis and set it horizontally in level using adjustable legs or special pads. The chimney pipe can be combined with a hole in the wall by turning the knees.

It is worth noting that when installing a chimney for a solid fuel boiler, it is best to use insulated sandwich pipes - they will help to avoid the accumulation of condensate on the walls of the chimney. Alternatively, pipe insulation can be done independently from basalt wool.

The fastest and easiest way to assemble an attached external chimney. It consists of a vertical fixed pipe, which is connected to the boiler outlet by means of a tee. If the house is wooden, then the installation of a chimney in places where it passes through a wall or ceiling must be carried out in compliance with fire safety regulations.

The chimney installation method is as follows:

  1. A square hole is cut out in the partition, larger than the section of the chimney pipe by 38 cm on each side. So, with a pipe channel cross section of 100 mm and an insulating layer thickness of 5 cm, the size of the hole will be 100 + 380 × 2 = 860 mm.
  2. A galvanized box is mounted in the opening - this will be a passage node.
  3. A sandwich pipe is passed through the box, and the voids are filled with basalt wool.
  4. Fix the outer cover of the assembly.

In houses made of bricks and foam blocks, the chimney is mounted in a steel sleeve with a seal.

During the installation of a heating system with a solid fuel boiler, a number of requirements for chimney ducts must be observed:

  • the minimum height of the chimney (from the grate to the visor) is 5 meters, and it can have no more than three turns;
  • docking of individual sections of the pipe is carried out so that the precipitation flows off the outside of the pipe, and the accumulated condensate - inside;
  • the horizontal section of the chimney should be installed with a slight slope towards the boiler;
  • at the bottom of the chimney, a condensate collector and an inspection hatch should be provided;
  • the roof cornice can be bypassed by installing two elbows on the chimney with a slope of 30º;
  • fastening the pipe with brackets must be done so that they do not fall at the joints of the sections;
  • a weather vane or a cone-shaped cap is mounted on top of the chimney.

Please note that the chimney head must be above the wind support zone of the roof of this or a neighboring house in order for the draft to be stable.

Connecting a solid fuel boiler to the system

After the installation of a solid fuel boiler with your own hands is completed, and the chimney takes its place, you can proceed directly to connecting the equipment to the general system. The main thing to remember is that cold water should not be supplied to a working boiler, especially if it has a cast-iron heat exchanger. Otherwise, due to the temperature difference, sticky condensate forms on the walls of the furnace, which mixes with soot. It will reduce the efficiency of the boiler, and it is quite difficult to clean it.

In this regard, the requirements for installing a solid fuel boiler provide for a typical piping scheme with a bypass and a three-way valve. It is set to a fixed temperature of 50-55º, so that the coolant will move in a small circle until its temperature reaches the desired values, after which the valve will gradually dilute it with cold flow from the heating circuit.

It should be noted that when tying pellet boilers, special attention should be paid to connecting the burner and automation. Often, products of European brands are equipped with automatic fire extinguishing systems connected to the central water supply. Therefore, in order to figure out how to properly install a solid fuel pellet boiler, you should consult with a representative of the manufacturer.

To connect the boiler, you will also need to install an expansion tank, shut-off valves and a circulation pump. After that, the circuit is filled with water and pressurized to 1 bar. Upon completion of work, a test run of the system is performed to check the operability.

conclusions

So, in itself, the process of installing a solid fuel boiler is not difficult, does not require prior approval and does not have strict restrictions. Nevertheless, in the process of work, many subtleties will have to be taken into account, and work is not easy. If you are not confident in your skills, certain tasks, such as strapping, can be entrusted to professionals.

Installing a solid fuel boiler at the present time will no longer mean smoke, soot and soot throughout the house. Now such systems have undergone many changes and are worthy of your attention. Why? Let's figure it out together.

This heat engineering device is made mainly of cast iron or heat-resistant steel. Energy is released through the combustion of solid fuel. It is used as wood, coal, peat. Modern solid fuel designs are completely different from the first samples of such boilers. Thanks to the enlarged combustion chamber, it became possible to lay a large amount of fuel at once. With today's boilers, you can even run 12 hours of equipment without your supervision.

The firewood loading scheme can be vertical or frontal, depending on the design. There are systems with automatic loading. Still similar boilers are non-volatile, in which the circulation of liquid occurs due to the slope of the pipes, and volatile. The latter will be more economical, in which water moves through the system under pressure, due to the operation of a special pump. True, in this case, the operation of the equipment depends on the voltage in the network, and the circuit is no longer completely autonomous.

Photo of a solid fuel boiler with automatic loading

Such equipment has a lot of advantages, although it was not without minor disadvantages. Let's consider all of them in order. The main plus is that you can do the installation of a solid fuel boiler yourself. Even unlike gas wiring, you do not have to run to different services, sit in queues, obtain appropriate permits, etc. The next significant plus is efficiency.

Compared to a gas-fired solid fuel system, it costs 4 times cheaper, with diesel fuel equipment - 8 times cheaper. And what can we say about electric boilers, which will cost as much as 17 times more to heat a house than solid fuel boilers.

In the photo - a boiler with a solid fuel system

In addition, such equipment has a long service life, for example, for cast-iron boilers, it reaches 50 years. Steel units, however, can serve you only 20 years, but this is also a lot. Modern devices are equipped with an electronic system, which greatly simplifies management. And don't forget about maintainability. The working scheme of such boilers involves functioning without the participation of gas, electricity, so another of their advantages should include partial or complete autonomy.

Now let's talk a little about the cons. Firstly, you will have to put firewood, coal and other fuel into the firebox yourself. It is not difficult, but it will take some time and effort. Secondly, you will have to constantly monitor the condition of the boiler and, if necessary, clean it from the ash formed on the walls and grate.

The correct connection of solid fuel boilers, of course, is necessary, however, in order for the equipment to work properly and for a long time, it needs proper care. Very often there are residues of combustion products in the furnace, for example, ash, soot. All this significantly reduces power. Therefore, regularly (at least once a week) it is necessary to clean these deposits from the furnace walls. The grate also needs cleaning. To remove unwanted ash, you just need to stir the coals with a special lever. By the way, this simple device will allow you to carry out emergency dumping of coal if necessary.

Photo of connecting a solid fuel boiler

Even for proper functioning, you need to monitor the draft in the chimney and the circulation of fluid through the system. For this purpose, the chimney is cleaned once a year. It is very important to insulate well all its sections located in unheated rooms. Otherwise, condensate will form in them, which will prevent the combustion products from escaping freely. And to improve the circulation of fluid in the system, you should install a pump. It is placed directly in front of the entrance to the boiler, when the water returns to it. This will not only affect the thermal performance in the best way, but will also save a little. The liquid will move faster and return to the boiler hot, which means that less energy will be spent on its next heating.

Scheme and procedure for installing the boiler

Note that installation is a very responsible matter, and any oversight will entail at least a malfunction of the system. But if you are not afraid to take a risk, let's turn to our step-by-step instructions.

How to install a solid fuel boiler - step by step diagram

Step 1: Choosing a Location

Such equipment should be placed in a separate room. As a boiler room, basements or basements are most often used. Hot coals can fall out of the firebox onto the floor, so the base under the boiler must be perfectly even and non-combustible. A concrete slab is perfect. Be sure to keep the body in a strictly vertical position. His distortions are unacceptable.

You still need to maintain the following distances. There should be more than half a meter between the rear surface of the heating unit and the wall. And from the front side of the boiler to other objects and surfaces, at least 125 cm is maintained. The ceiling height cannot be less than 250 cm, and the volume of the room in which the heating equipment is located must be more than 15 cubic meters. Treat the floor and walls of the boiler room with special fire-fighting agents and take care of a good exhaust system.

Step 2: Preparing the Components

The circuit consists of a radiator, a pipe, a circulation pump, an expansion tank and the heat unit itself. The kit also includes a heat accumulator, air and safety valves, a pressure gauge and a thermostat. Be sure to check the serviceability of all elements when buying and give preference only to reliable manufacturers.

Step 3: Hardware Installation

We expose the unit in the boiler room, adhering to all the above requirements. Pay special attention to the position of the body, it must be located strictly horizontally. Therefore, once again check the prepared area with a level, whether it is level enough. Then we connect all electric heaters, if any are included in the package. In principle, there is nothing complicated about this, since a special place is provided in the boiler itself, where the heating element will be located, and next to this element there is a thermostat.

Step 4: Mounting pipes and electronics

Connection diagrams for solid fuel boilers require the presence of pipes. It is best to connect them through stopcocks. The joints are additionally sealed with flax fibers or a special plumbing tape. If we are talking about volatile units, then they, respectively, should be connected to the network. Don't forget about grounding. Next, we install all the devices responsible for the safe operation of the equipment. This is a thermostat, valves, pressure gauge, draft sensor.

Step 5: Mounting the chimney

Today it is not at all necessary to lay out a brick chimney, you can assemble it from special plastic elements. Wherein the diameter of the components is selected depending on the power of the equipment. Therefore, be sure to follow the recommendations given in the operating instructions for the selected boiler. Moreover, this stage is especially important, because the guarantee of high-quality operation of the thermal unit is good traction.

Step 6: Filling Out the Outline

First, we fill the heating circuit with water so that the pressure is slightly higher than the working one, and we carefully examine the entire system, especially the joints. This way you will identify any leaks, if any. Then we carefully check whether the internal elements of the furnace are located correctly. These include a kindling damper, grates, fireclay stones and plugs.

Step 7: Connection

If the whole circuit is in order, no leaks were found, then you need to relieve the pressure to the working one, adjust the position of the dampers and proceed directly to the operation of the heating device. To do this, lay and kindle the fuel, and after 10 minutes close the damper. As soon as the temperature reaches 80 degrees, set the thermostat to the desired level. It remains to throw firewood in time and enjoy a comfortable microclimate.
