How to make a chessboard

We make two square templates from 5 mm thick plywood, which will determine the width of the cut veneer strip. To prevent slipping, we also rest the steel ruler against the template with our edges. Moving a sharp knife along the ruler, we cut strips of veneer. At this stage, it is important to remember that the veneer is cut in several strokes, not one at a time.
